What we collect

• Account: email, password (hashed), full name, phone, optional WhatsApp.
• Roommate profile: your preferences, budget, area, lifestyle, photo, and bio.
• Payments: M-Pesa transaction codes or Binance screenshots you submit for manual verification.

What is public

Your roommate profile fields (excluding phone, WhatsApp, and email) are visible to other signed-in Maasai Mara University students. Contact details are only revealed after a match is approved.

What is private

Your phone, WhatsApp, email, and payment records are hidden from other users. Only you and MaraRoom administrators can see them.

Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from your profile page. Deletion removes your profile, matches, and personal contact info from our database.
